The Practice Staff
The Practice Nurses
The practice nurses, Gil Williams RGN RMN RM and Tracy Bromilow RGN, hold clinics every day which are by appointment only. Their duties include immunisations, cervical cytology, ear syringing, blood pressure checks, spirometry, ECGs, well man and well woman clinics, asthma clinics, diabetes clinics, minor illness triage and travel clinics. They are supported by their administration officer, Tricia Hart.
Primary Care Assistant
All our doctors and practice nurses are supported by our primary care assistant Mandy Clench whose duties include blood pressure checks, blood tests, ECGs and the fitting of our 24-hour blood pressure machines.
District Nurses
These are attached to the practice and are based at Durham Avenue. They work very closely with the doctors and whenever necessary will visit patients in their own home.
Health Visitors
The health visitors, Lynne Bentham and Gail Cronin, are also based at Durham Avenue and can give
expert advice on all aspects of your own and your family's healthcare. They can be contacted via the health centre or by calling their dedicated number, 657330. Both hold child health clinics at the practice and these
are normally on Tuesday afternoons. Lynne also runs a child
asthma clinic.
Phlebotomists
Melissa runs blood test clinics on Tuesday mornings and Mandy, our primary care assistant, does those on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
Primary Mental Health Care Worker
Viorica Dewhurst sees patients suffering from mild depression, anxiety and panic attacks. She is also qualified to deliver bereavement counselling and can offer continuing support to patients following withdrawal from some medications.
Practice Manager
Mrs Susan Byrne looks after the administrative aspects of practice activity.
Reception Manager
Mrs Tricia Hart is in charge of all matters concerning reception.
Receptionists
Our practice manager is supported by our friendly team of receptionists:
Debbie, Fiona, Sue, Alison, Lynn, Linda, Alison, Linda, Barbara, Mandy, Lyn and Natalie.
Our receptionists are here to help you. Sometimes they may need to ask for more details in order to do this, but such information will always be treated in the strictest of confidence as they are bound by the same codes of conduct as the doctors.
Park - A Teaching Practice
The practice is a teaching practice for GP Registrars, medical students, student nurses and attached staff. The GP Registrar is with us for 12 months, normally from August till the following July. Whilst the GP registrars are already fully qualified doctors, having had a great deal of hospital experience, they are nonetheless encouraged to seek advice when required from any of the GP partners.
The practice also takes student nurses on placements from the local hospital. In addition, we have other attached staff from the community who are mentored by the GPs in a programme of development that includes such activities as nurse prescribing.
